An important part of Chameleon are themes. Themes are appearances for your blog, by choosing a theme you choose the lay-out of your blog. You can download a theme and install it, or create your own theme, to give your blog a personal look.
What are themes?
A theme is a skin for your blog: it defines how your blog looks for the outside. In the Admin Center, you can create new entries, which are then added to the database. When someone visits your website, Chameleon pulls some entries and other data from the database (depending on which page is being visited), and passes that data to a specific template in the theme. That template then completely decides how it wants to display the data, the lay-out of the page.
How do themes work?
All themes reside in the themes directory of your Chameleon installation. Adding a new theme simply means adding a new directory with the theme files there, removing a theme is done by removing its directory.
To select which theme you want to use, you can simply go to the "Manage Themes" page in the Themes section of the admin center, and enable the theme you want to use.
Installing a new theme
To install a new theme, just download and unpack it, and put it inside the themes directory of Chameleon. Then, log in into the Admin Center and go to the "Themes" tab, and the new theme should be in the list. Simply click the button to switch to that theme.
Deleting a theme
To delete a theme, you first need to make sure you enable another theme (in the Admin Center). Then, you can simply delete that theme's directory inside the themes directory in your Chameleon installation.
